Karate mats are used for several aspects of martial arts training. They can be small mats intended for single person use or can be large enough to accommodate an entire class. They provide the perfect surface for practicing the many movements and techniques required for the Karate student.

Throwing techniques are most often taught to students using a landing mat. These karate mats are often quite thick in order to minimize the possibility of injury during these maneuvers. Thick padding and a durable vinyl covering are essential to these particular mats.

Karate mats are also commonly used for warm up and stretching exercises. Much like a yoga mat, they are often textured to provide maximum grip. They are often designed to be folded up for easy storage when not in use.
